A unique and early sculpture by Bruno Munari. Signed and dated by hand. Once described by Picasso as "the new Leonardo", Bruno Munari was a highly influential artist, designer, graphic artist, illustrator, pedagogue and a visionary theorist. This beautiful piece is an early example of a kinetic play object. It lets the viewer participate in the work by setting it in motion. Its construction, inspired by Japanese origami is by purpose childishly simple, yet interesting from all angles. The Scultura da Viagio would some decades later be reproduced in aluminium (1985 - 1997). This one is from 1959 and made with silver plated brass. Munari would have been interested in its mirroring surface and the light it reflects on its surroundings The sculpture remains in a beautiful condition and it comes with an official certificate of the Bruno Munari Archive in Milan (archive number 713)
