A red glass vase, created by the artist Sem Schanzer in the 1990s as part of the artist collective l'Anverre. The vase has an angular and leaning position rather than vertical, which is accentuated by the spiral placed around it. The color goes in gradient, from a light red to a more intense red. Although several vases of the same type were produced using the same hand-blowing technique, each piece remains unique in its shape and coloring. Sem Schanzer, a self-taught artist, has been active in several fields, from sculpture to glasswork to installations. He is not attached to a specific artistic movement. This versatility is reflected in his many works of art. In 1986, he founded the artist collective l'Anverre, an interdisciplinary group based in Antwerp. As the driving force behind the group, he is also called Sem de l'Anverre. The collective shares an artistic and philosophical idea, striving to create a deeper meaning in an age where technology and science seem to distance us from our direct reality. United by nature and by their commitment to culture and gender diversity, the collective has gained international recognition. The vase is signed by the artist.
