Beautiful, timeless design desk or table lamp by Horax, 1930s, Bauhaus style. Beautifully shaped, heavy cast iron foot and base with an enamelled metal, dark green shade, which is adjustable. The base (rod) can also be moved forwards and backwards. The lamp has “Horax” in its shade and for that reason this Bauhaus notary or banker’s lamp is often attributed to the Horax brand, but “Horax” was the trademark of this type of lamp. However, the lamp was made by Dr. Ing. Schneider & Co in ca. 1930, a factory for special lighting technology founded in 1911. This lamp is in a very good, original condition with normal traces of use and wear. The wiring has been checked and renewed. See the photos for a good impression. Photos are part of this description.
