Very nice large ceramic vase designed by Ettore Sottsass Jr. for Bitossi Italy 1950. These ceramics objects were commissioned by the prominent Dutch department store ‘De Bijenkorf’ in 1958. The very nice and typical thick lava glaze is very noticeable. The ceramics were all produced in very small limited productions and are very hard to find, you will hardly see these ceramics outside Holland. The vase is marked with the Bijenkorf logo at the bottom. It is in excellent condition, no damages. Would look highly decorative as a set, have a look at the other ceramics we have from these series.
