This expressive abstract relief in white by Dutch artist Henk van Putten (1936–2019) exemplifies his constructivist approach, deeply influenced by Vladimir Tatlin. Van Putten embraced a methodical process, creating 3D works composed of glued, welded, or screwed components. Even in his preparatory paintings, he meticulously painted seams to anticipate their placement in the final structure. His work, while distinct, aligns with artists he admired, such as André Volten and Gerrit Rietveld, and reflects the principles of *De Stijl*. Van Putten also resonated with the German ZERO movement, sharing its societal engagement. Befriending figures like Egon Eppich and Hap Grieshaber, he reinforced his commitment to art as both a visual and social construct.
