An orange ceramic carafe, created by the artist Sem Schanzer for the artist collective l'Anverre. The carafe was made by l'Anverre's own production line. The carafe has a teardrop shape and the handles are incorporated into its design. Several other carafes have been made, in different colors and materials. Sem Schanzer, a self-taught artist, has been active in several fields, from sculpture to glasswork to installations. He is not attached to a specific artistic movement. This versatility is reflected in his many works of art. In 1986, he founded the artist collective l'Anverre, an interdisciplinary group based in Antwerp. As the driving force behind the group, he is also called Sem de l'Anverre. The collective shares an artistic and philosophical idea, striving to create a deeper meaning in an age where technology and science seem to distance us from our direct reality. United by nature and by their commitment to culture and gender diversity, the collective has gained international recognition.
