A large 'Tupi' vase of clear glass, made by Sem Schanzer in the 1990s as part of the artist collective l'Anverre. L'Anverre is known for its playful and vibrant style, which is reflected in the dynamic movement of the vase. The vase is made of hand-blown glass. Debullicant technique was used to create a pattern of enclosed air bubbles, which contributes to the dynamic appearance. Sem Schanzer, a self-taught artist, was active in various fields, from sculptures and glasswork to installations. He remains unbound to a specific artistic movement. This versatility can be seen in his many artworks. In 1986 he founded the artist collective l'Anverre, an interdisciplinary group based in Antwerp. As the driving force behind the group, he is also called Sem de l'Anverre. The collective shares an artistic and philosophical idea, striving to create deeper meaning in a time when technology and science seem to take us further away from our direct reality. United by nature and their commitment to culture and gender diversity, the collective has achieved international recognition. The vase is signed.
