Very nice sized writing table/desk designed by Dom Hans van der Laan and executed for the Pauluskerk in Dongen, designed by his Brother Nico van der Laan, 1965/1967. This table comes from the church where his brother Nico van der Laan was the architect for, this church was fully decorated with the designs by Dom Hans van der Laan, also this table for example. The table has a very nice green lacquer finish and has a very nice patina from age and usage. The table is finished with copper nails, which was a trade mark for de Bossche School. The holes on the sides are to easily lift the table and is a visibly nice detail. The table is in good condition with a nice patina, some normal marks from age and usage, which are also visible on the pictures. Can be restored on request. The table was fully designed by the proportions of the ‘Plastic number’ which was designed by Dom Hans van der Laan. The building of the church started in 1965 and finished in 1967. The chairs was put out of use in 2005 when a part of the furniture was relocated and a part was sold. The famous benches from van der Laan with the metal frames come out of the same church. Provenance: Pauluskerk, Dongen 1967
