High backed Bird Chair and Footstool designed by Harry Bertoia, U.S.A., Knoll International, 1990s. Original Bird Chair set (423 & 424) with black painted metal frame sculpted from bent metal rods. The full covers in dark purple wool upholstery are stretched over and attached with hooks. The Knoll logo is stamped into the base of the chair and the ottoman. SUPER COMFORTABLE! The Harry Bertoia Bird Chair, produced by Knoll, is an iconic lounge chair designed in 1952 by the Italian-American sculptor and designer Harry Bertoia. This high-back lounge chair showcases Bertoia's mastery in sculpting space, form, and function through industrial wire rods, transforming them into comfortable, elegant seating. This chair dates from the 1990s. Ottoman: 62cm W x 44cm D x 39cm H. Condition: Excellent vintage condition.
