Early production of type B1, circa 1936. Metal parts are nickel silver (nickel). Early type with closed Wotan's knot, no D.R.G.M. stamping. SS stamping is hand-struck and weakly executed on the second link from the bottom, first part. Personified 'HS' on the crossguard, which stands for Hans Schmatzler (SS No.: 210549, last rank Sturmbannführer Kdr.Pz. Jg. Abt. 7. SS Gebirgsdivision Prinz Eugen). The SS number is finely stamped (engraved) on the lower side of the crossguard. Includes an army portepee for Waffen SS with rare binding. Very good original condition with traces of use.
