Three smoke-toned glass vases by Edward Hald for Orrefors, dating from 1929-30. Each vase features engraved decoration of women with veils and Cupid. Signed Of. H. 623. 29. F, Of. H. 351. 30. P, and Of. H. 726. 29. P. Edward Hald was a Swedish visual and glass artist known for his modernist spirit, inspired by Henri Matisse. He joined Orrefors Glassworks in 1917 and, along with Simon Gate and Knut Bergqvist, developed the revolutionary Graal glass technique. Hald's designs are characterized by Matisse-inspired elements, humor, and contemporary motifs. The general impression of the vases is good.
