This 1930s Bauhaus cantilever chair by Mart Stam showcases the design that shaped Czechoslovakian furniture production of that decade. The seat and backrest are made of shaped beech plywood, high-gloss lacquered in RAL 5014 pigeon blue. The chrome-plated tubular steel frame describes the characteristic cantilever curve and creates a slightly springy seating position. The smooth lacquer surface reflects light, giving the chair a cool, graphic presence. Mart Stam's design was produced in large numbers by various manufacturers in the 1930s. This particular piece is designed in pigeon blue. Other color variations are available upon request.
