This Bauhaus cantilever chair by Mart Stam from the 1930s features a factory-fresh finish in RAL 6019 White Green, a cool pistachio green that creates a precise contrast with the chrome-plated tubular steel frame. Mart Stam further developed the cantilever concept in 1926: no rear leg, instead a continuous curved tubular steel that provides suspension through its elasticity. The seat and backrest are made of shaped beech plywood, which gives the Bauhaus chair its clear seating geometry. The tubular steel frame is chrome-plated and in very good condition. Production took place in Czechoslovakia, where several manufacturers, in close connection with Thonet, produced cantilever chairs for the European market from the early 1930s. With a seat height of 45 cm and an overall height of 82 cm, this 1930s chair is suitable as a dining chair or for a desk. Placed in the living room or study, it takes on a formal role as a Bauhaus chair without effort. Those who prefer a different color scheme can choose from the existing stock of unrestored chairs and individually determine the color.
